Hockey: PWHL-Minnesota at Boston
Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

The women head to the road for the first time still looking for a point after their second game was moved due to weather.

Just the facts

When: Today, 3:30 PM

Where: Verdun Auditorium, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

How to follow: NESN, NESN 360, PWHL YouTube (Out of Market)

Know your enemy

  • Marie-Philip Poulin, Maureen Murphy, Jillian Dempsey: Poulin was scoreless for almost a year but went off this week scoring a hat trick, American fans are painfully familiar with her ability to score when it matters. Northeastern product Murphy has been fitting in nicely as she makes her professional debut up in the great white north getting some top line minutes. And the former Boston Captain Dempsey will play her first game against Boston after playing for both the Blades and Pride.
  • Ann-Renee Desbiens, Elaine Chuli, Marlene Boissonnault: ARD is the likely starter after Chuli went out last time against New York, both are tough nuts to crack but ARD is the Canadian starter for a reason.

Game notes

  • Boston is the only team so far without a point, Ottawa has one from their only game played. Ottawa will also be playing before Boston today so even if they win today Boston might have the dubious recognition of being the last original team to win a game, even if the weather played a role in that.
  • This will be Boston’s first road trip and Montreal’s first home game, only Minnesota has won their home opener, and you have to think nerves could play a factor.
  • Montreal has played three games so far, winning in regulation and OT and losing a regulation game.
  • The league has not published lines yet but we will update this article when they do.
  • This should be a Frankel game though that surely means Soderberg will get the nod in Toronto on Wednesday.
