The New England Patriots hosted three free agents on Tuesday, including a native of Andover, Mass.

Quarterback E.J. Perry worked out for the organization along with wide receivers Kendall Hinton and C.J. Saunders, as shared by ESPN’s Mike Reiss and KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson.

Perry, 25, went undrafted in 2022 after stops at Boston College and Brown, where he completed 295-of-444 passes for 3,033 yards with 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his final season. Added on the ground by the Bushnell Cup winner were 111 carries for 402 yards and seven touchdowns. A two-time All-Ivy League selection who earned invitations to the East-West Shrine Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine, Perry has since been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and USFL’s Michigan Panthers.

Hinton, 26, entered the NFL with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted rookie in 2020. Through 29 games, the Wake Forest product stands with 39 receptions for 486 yards and one touchdown to go with 12.2 yards per punt return. Between stints on the practice squad and active roster, Hinton’s career has included six starts, including one under center with multiple quarterbacks on the Covid-19 reserve list. He was waived by Denver at the league’s cutdown deadline.

Saunders, 27, signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2021. The former Ohio State wideout had been denied a sixth year of eligibility and spent the previous fall working as a graduate assistant at his alma mater. Saunders went on to log two seasons on Carolina’s practice squad, appearing in two games to catch two passes for 11 yards. He agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons in August and was released from the scout team midway through October.

New England’s practice squad includes three openings following the release of kicker Matthew Wright as well as the 53-man roster exits of quarterback Malik Cunningham to the Baltimore Ravens and linebacker Calvin Munson to the Miami Dolphins.

The Kansas City Chiefs visit Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The flexed-out kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
