Patriots vs. Jets Friday injury report: Hunter Henry, Trent Brown ruled out for season finale

Game statuses for Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET season finale at Gillette Stadium.

The final practice of the season reached the rearview without two for the New England Patriots.

Tight end Hunter Henry and offensive tackle Trent Brown stayed sidelined on Friday and have since been ruled out for the finale against the New York Jets.

Twelve members of the active roster move forward as questionable, including new additions in wide receiver Tyquan Thornton and safety Jalen Mills, who both were limited participants.

Here’s the rest of the game statuses ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.

Both veterans ruled out for New England stand in contract years. Henry practiced in a partial capacity on Wednesday and Thursday before being downgraded on Friday. The team captain at tight end missed the previous two games because of a knee injury and will now miss a third. Prior to then, Henry hadn’t been inactive since arriving in Foxborough as a free agent in 2021. His campaign comes to a close with 42 receptions for 419 yards and a team-high six touchdowns. As for Brown, the former starting left tackle remained a non-participant throughout the week due to an illness. He had been in a rotation since the end of November and was a healthy scratch for New Year’s Eve versus the Buffalo Bills.

No Patriots enter the weekend as doubtful. But Schweitzer, who was a limited participant throughout the AFC East preparations, carries the designation for the Jets due to a calf injury. The guard has not played since logging 100 percent of the offensive snaps against the Atlanta Falcons as the calendar turned to December.

Each of the dozen Patriots questionable practiced to a limited degree on Friday, with Thornton and Mills both added to the injury report due to ankle ailments. The lone member of the 50-50 who did not appear in last weekend’s 27-21 loss at Highmark Stadium was Peppers. The starting safety had been downgraded prior to the trip to Orchard Park because of a hamstring injury. It stood as his second missed game in a row. He has tallied 76 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a pair of interceptions in New England’s secondary this season.
