The Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Tyreik McAllister was among New England’s visitors.

With futures contracts on the horizon, five players from the CFL ranks visited Foxborough on the final Friday of 2023.

The New England Patriots worked out running back Tyreik McAllister, wide receiver Samuel Emilus, linebackers Gary Johnson and Josh Woods, along with defensive back Carthell Flowers-Lloyd, as shared by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

McAllister, 25, spent part of 2022 on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad and joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in June. He appeared in 16 games from there, totaling 415 yards and two touchdowns on offense while averaging 10.7 yards per punt return and a league-best 25.2 yards per kickoff return. A TD also arrived on a missed field goal for the University of Charleston product, who rushed for 1,090 yards and 13 scores during his final collegiate campaign.

Emilus, 26, was selected in the first round of the 2022 CFL draft at No. 7 overall. Through 33 career games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the wideout has caught 80 passes for 1,262 yards and six touchdowns. Longs of 51 and 54 yards stand among them for Emilus, who logged 59 receptions for 653 yards and seven touchdowns at UMass before moving on to Louisiana Tech as a graduate transfer in 2021.

Johnson, 27, registered 150 tackles, 8.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Texas Longhorns after enrolling from Dodge City Community College. The 2019 NFL Scouting Combine attendee signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent. He has since spent four seasons in the CFL between the Roughriders and Ottawa RedBlacks, appearing in 25 games.

Woods, 25, played in 31 games at UCLA and ranked atop the Bruins with 4.5 sacks as a redshirt senior. He signed with the BC Lions in 2021. Over the past three campaigns, the linebacker has tallied 69 tackles on defense to go with 21 tackles on special teams. Two sacks, two interceptions and one touchdown have been accrued in the process.

Flowers-Lloyd, 25, spent three years at Eastern Michigan before transferring to Stony Brook, where he notched 70 tackles, two sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and two touchdowns as a graduate student in 2022. He totaled 31 tackles through 18 games for the Tiger-Cats during his initial run in the CFL.

The Buffalo Bills host New Year’s Eve’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Highmark Stadium before the finale hits at home against the New York Jets.
