FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Walt Anderson, who first started officiating NFL games in 1996 and was promoted to referee in 2003, has been assigned to referee the AFC Championship Game between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
Anderson, who is sometimes confused around these parts with Walt Coleman (who made the “Tuck Rule” call), is one of the NFL’s veteran referees. He worked two Patriots games this season — the opening loss at miami and the Week 9 home win over the Broncos. more
